6th Cape Town International Sport and Peace Conference 18-19 September 2019
The 2019 International Cape Town Sport and Peace Conference as in the years before, invites professionals from government, non-profit, educational, corporate and media organizations. In keeping with Madiba’s unswerving internationalism, this year’s conference is also being held in conjunction with the International Peace Research Association (IPRA), and its continental affiliate, the Africa Peace Education and Research Association (AFPREA). 5th Cape Town International Sport and Peace Conference 20-22 September 2018
The Foundation for Sport, Development and Peace in collaboration with Western Cape Department for Cultural Affairs and Sport, Nedbank, the Nelson Mandela Foundation, the Robben Island Museum, the International Pierre de Coubertin Foundation, The Global Sport Institute, the Cape Town Sport Council and their partners presented the 5th Cape Town International Sport and Peace Conference, and the launch of the Youth Network for Sport, Development and Peace, borne from the 1st African Youth Forum on Robben Island.
OVEP: Train the Trainer
The 1st official OVEP Train the Trainer course recently took place with the Foundation for Sport, Development, and Peace. OVEP means Olympic Values Education Programme, which incorporates the Olympic and Universal values of Respect, Friendship and Excellence in sport and physical activity. The Olympic Values Education Programme is designed to benefit youth from all walks of life, and all levels of athletic ability and interest.

The Global Sport Roundtable
The Foundation for Sport, Development and Peace is partnering with the Global Sport Institute at Arizona State University, as they are hosting the Global Sport Roundtable: Race and Sport. This event took place on Friday, 1 June 2018 in Santa Monica, California.

As part of the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon Programme from 19-21 September, and on the occasion of World Peace Day we are happy to present the 1st Cape Town Peace Conference and Expo on African Visions – Global Legacies – Sport and Peace taking place on 19 September 2014 at Southern Sun, Waterfront, Cape Town.
The Conference facilitated discussions, workshops, presentations and community experiences in the field of sport, recreation, community and youth in the development and peace context and will addressed a variety of stakeholders from civil society, government departments, corporates as well as interested parties from tertiary institutions and schools.
