The Foundation for Sport, Development and Peace in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee, Department, of Public Affairs and Social Development through Sport, United World Wrestling and the MOD Programme of the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport joined hands during the 2016 Olympic year, to offer a specialized Training Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport joined hands to offer a specialised Training Programme in Coaching Development and Olympic Value Education for 54 selected coaches of the MOD Programme from all districts of the Western Cape.

The Foundation is actively engaged in strategic liaison on sport, development and peace with international role-players in influencing the strategic agenda and advocating sound policies on sport, development and peace.
The Foundation is also a knowledge management organisation that promotes sound research and evaluation on sport, development and peace programmes and projects. The Foundation specialises in results based monitoring and evaluation at various levels.
The Foundation is involved in a wide range of capacity building and training initiatives including specific training courses in leadership and value education , conflict transformation and peace, facilitation of sport and development youth training programmes.
The Foundation has been actively involved with community outreach projects especially in collaboration with a network of NGOs and CBOs.The Foundation is also geared to offer technical assistance to development programmes and projects.
The Foundation is offering a focussed scholarship programme associated with its Annual Cape Town Peace Conference and mobilising specific funding for this purpose. The Foundation is also active in raising bursary support for postgraduate research.
The Foundation departs from a dedicated approach that is based on active networking and partnerships on all the above ventures. These partnerships are based on strong relationships, trust and commitment to support sport, development and peace.
